In the novel Who Is Frances Rain?By Margaret Buffie.Lizzie and her brother and sister visits her grandmothers at Fish Narrows in the summmer as she does every summer. But this summer is different her stepfather and mother are with them.Lizze takes a trip to Rain Island to explore and see if she can find some artifacts instead she finds herself a mystery at a cabin site.She finds a pair of glasses and puts them on to find herself looking in the past at a woman who had died 60 years ago and also a little girl who she later finds out is her grandmother.

About Margaret Buffie, Margaret Buffie was born and grew up in the Winnipeg, She went to lots of schools - graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba. An artist for many years, Margaret started writing in 1985. A year later, after finishing her first book, Kids Can Press accepted Who is Frances Rain for publication. It became a bestseller after appearing in bookstores in 1987. Since then Buffie has published five more best selling books and is working on her seventh book. She works at her home in Winnipeg during the winter and on the deck of her cottage in Northwestern Ontario in the summer months. Margaret's books have been published in the United States, Norway, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Great Britain, Germany and other countries.Margaret saidsI honestly have no idea [what inspires or motivates me to write]. I just know that it is something I felt compelled to do 15 years ago and the desire is still there. I think it may be a way of escaping - being able to live in worlds of my own creation where I get to call the shots.
